I Heard Your Voice

God
Has a way
Of
Reminding us
Of
His
Unconditional Love

Seeing
A family member
Someone
Whom
I love
Respect
Value
Trust

Am grateful
For
Having
This person
In
My life

The morning
Of
11.8.2020
God
My Heavenly Father
Spoke
Through me
He
Brought to mind
The image
The name
Of
A family member

He
Clearly said
Send a message
A text

Ask and see
If
She is able
To connect

I paused
I waited
For
Just a few minutes

Listening
To Christmas music
Checking
Social media
The internet

The time
Came

Said
Let’s do this

Text message
Sent

Immediate response
Was received

Said
That would be perfect
Thank you

Let’s meet

So
We did
Within
A 2-hour
Window of time

God
He whispered
He called

I answered

That’s all

Responded to
Trusted

This all
Was
A part of
His plan

Face to face

Long time
Coming

Many months
In between

In
My heart
My thoughts

I’ve kept
Her
Safe and sound

Thinking about
Wondering

How
She is doing
How
Is the health
Of
Her family

Arrived
At
The destination
The meeting spot

Close
To her home

The distance
Not far
For
Her to drive

Freshly
Fallen snow
Freezing rain
Icy

Not
The best
Road conditions

Each of us
We made it there
Just fine

(Amen)

Excited

Awaited with
Much anticipation

Looking forward
To
Our meeting
Reconnecting
Becoming unified

We found
One another
In
The parking lot

Took
Some searching
One another
We did find

Was told
By my daughter
Mom
There she is

Got out
Of
The car
Eyes connected
Smiled
Waved

At a distance
We still were

There we were
Would you believe

Wow

How beautiful
The energy

Regardless of
The months
That passed by

Exchanged goods
We did

Accepted
A box filled
With
Hometown reading materials

She
Was given
A box filled
With
Coho Salmon
Caught
By my family and I
Last summer
What a thrill

Organic
Fresh fish
Healthy eating
Lifestyle

Food
For the soul
Sharing in the gift

God
He provides

Enough
For both
Her and I

Engaged
In conversation
How wonderful
Her presence
Did feel

Warmth
Love
Family

This meeting
Felt like
A reason
To
Celebrate

Life moments

Enjoy
Each one
The ones
We
Are given

Take not
For granted
Any second
Any minute
Any hour
Of
Your days

A blessing
This was
Meeting up
On
Such short notice

Thank you
God
For reminding
Me

Of
The importance of
Reaching out
Connecting with
Those who
You
Have called to mind

Thank you
God
For
Helping me
To know
Your voice

For teaching me
How
To quiet
Myself
Be still
And know
That
You are God
My Father
The one
Who
Speaks through me

Messages of hope
Messages of peace

Be still
And know that I am God
(Oh how things words ring true!)

I am grateful
Beyond measure

We had
The opportunity to meet

Seconds
Turn into minutes

Minutes
Turn into hours

Hours
Turn into days

Days
Turn into weeks

Weeks
Turn into months

Months
Turn into year

Live a life
Of
Beautiful moments

Be fulfilled

Waste not
Your time

How precious
Our breath
Our heartbeat
Our voice
Our presence
IS

This day
I
Was reminded
Of
How God
Works
In
My life

His timing
His ways

All He wants
IS
For me
To
Have faith
Trust
Believe
All things
Are possible
Through Him

The power
Of touch

Healing properties

An urge
To hug
Reach out
Embrace

To hold
Be held

As one
United

In Christ

With God’s
Unconditional love

Human compassion
Outreach

We crave
Interaction
Connections
With
Other people

Physical presence
Face to face
Eye to eye

This day
I felt
God’s presence

Through
A family member

There
With one another

No doubt
In my mind
God
He reached out
Both arms
Outstretched

As we hugged
One another
Experiencing
His
Loving touch

With this
He confirmed

Was my
Affirmation

God
He is with us
Every moment

At all times

For the first 22 years of my life, I was a dairy farmer in central Minnesota. My life journey brought me to Alaska in 1995 where my husband and I started our family and now nearly all of our children have grown into young adults. In 2008, at the age of 35, I graduated college, earning my BA in Early Childhood Education and began teaching three months after graduation. Since then, I've been working with preschoolers with special needs. I have learned so much about myself and gained a deeper understanding and appreciation for both the children and their families. My love of writing started at an early age. From writing in my journals and diaries, creative writing in school-given story starters by my teachers, writing hand written letters to penpals, individual letters to family members and friends, and much, much more. My dream of becoming a published author came true in 2010 when I published my first book, "Bessie the Amazing Cow." I haven't published more books since then, however God has provided me with much inspiration and story ideas for future publications. I am currently exploring self-publishing with hopes of getting my next children's pictures book in the works soon. I put all faith and trust in Him and His timing. I am grateful for He has trusted in me to be a vessel through which He speaks.
