How You Start Your Day Matters

Got in my car and turned on the radio. Just talk, nothing much. Definitely a good time to listen to my audiobook. I’ve been “reading” a lot more books when I’ve been able to listen to someone read them to me-LoL!!

Listening to someone read to me has always been quite relaxing, comforting, soothing.

I am a couple hours into the book called, “Crazy Love, Revised and Updated: Overwhelmed By A Relentless God” by Francis Chan.

The more I listen and follow along, the more deeply connected I’ve become with God. Every book I’ve read and listened to helps me to understand His word more clearly and how it relates to me in everyday life.

Every author has their own unique life experience and way of explaining, painting a picture of how it looks. I appreciate having different takes on life as well as different perspectives. All said and done, it really comes down to love (of self and others), as well as trusting in God through all things, giving Him all glory, praise, honor and having a deep relationship with Him.

Not far into my drive, going past the first exit after my house, a car in the left lane switched over to and behind me in the same middle lane. I couldn’t discriminate to see what kind of a car it was, something gained my attention, and I wondered what it was. Maybe a hood ornament or something. Perhaps damage to the car from an accident. I really didn’t know as I was focused on my driving, and it was merely a glance to check my mirrors.

The car followed behind me for a short distance. A hill was just beyond the exit ramp. Thinking I may have been going slower than the speed limit is why I thought the car that pulled behind me got over into the right lane. We went down the hill, then back up again. Keeping pace with me, I let off the gas pedal a bit in case they wanted to get around me and back over in the middle lane. As I did, the truck in front the car was going a bit faster than me, providing more space for the car behind. In that instant, I knew it was God speaking to me, keeping His peaceful presence flowing through me.

God drew me near to Him as He brought my focus and attention on Him through means of a personalized license plate on what looked to be a black car, pretty new looking I would say.

The license plate read “GDLVSU”

Are you reading what I’m reading?

Yeah! Pretty cool, right?

God Loves You!

What a blessing it was to receive this message!

He knew how much I needed that reminder and reassurance in my life. Very much so at peace while saying out loud what I was reading!

There may be those of you who read into this differently, and that is perfectly okay. It all depends where you are in your life and what you are focusing your attention and energy on. All I know is I’ve had my heart and mind set on Him, and this is the message I was given.

The fun on my drive into work this morning didn’t end there. Oh, it gets better!

I work on a military base. Shortly after I entered through the gate and three lights later, I noticed a military police car put its lights on-flashing but no sound. The light had just turned green at the light I was sitting waiting at and the car was coming in the opposite direction. I wasn’t sure what was up and was really kind of confused.

I drove slowly knowing they were going in the opposite direction. I kept watch and seeing more cars pull over and stop (now on my side, so I stopped too). The car made a U-turn right before or near the light. Okay, so I will wait it out sitting on the side of the road anticipating them to drive by and I will proceed driving to work.

Well, looks like I was the chosen one, but I still had no clue why. Guilt did not consume me, nor did I find fault in anything I did.

I waited eagerly as he approached the passenger side. I rolled down my window to listen in to what he had to say. When asked if I knew what I was pulled over, I said no and was really confused why. I was told my headlight was out (just one of them) and was asked if I knew it was out. No was my reply as I was not aware of this and had no idea it was out.

I thanked him for bringing it to my attention. Protocol was followed and did the usual: registration, insurance, and license check. Doing their job, I know and appreciate what they do. Now, to get a new lightbulb installed and hopefully be good for thousands of miles more.

Had I not been in a peaceful place, I wonder if I would have felt more guilt. Just because the flashing lights drew attention to me, my light from within came shining through. Thank you, Jesus, for providing me with your peaceful presence. Thank you for sending me someone to let me know some of my light is missing (not working). Perhaps this is also a reminder of how sometimes our own light grows dim and it takes reconnecting to the source to be lit fully once again. So much to rejoice in! So much to be grateful for.

Hello and welcome, I am so glad we have crossed paths! It’s no accident you are here! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by, notice and read. As a wife, mother, grandmother, teacher (and so much more), I see the world through my lens. From the way I was raised, to every experience, moment, and circumstance in life, has shaped the way I think and see the world. For several years now, I have been walking more closely with God, getting to know Him, how He speaks to me and through me. He has given me the ability to write, a way to express how I am feeling and what I am going through. This has been a beautiful, crazy kind of journey where much healing is taking place. A time where I need to offer myself up some grace and appreciate the hard work, dedication, and commitment to creating a better version of myself. I am learning how to work through and release old trauma, healing, shedding old layers of myself, accepting and embracing my true and authentic self. Getting to know the new me has been quite foreign, especially when the old wants to cling to what is familiar, old habits and mindsets. Writing has been my saving grace (and photography is right up there too). An outlet, a way to release, a way to pause, reflect and see there is more than what my mind is leading me to believe. God’s word, His voice is there. When I keep Him first, above all things, I’ve realized things work out for my greater good, my higher purpose. I hope you enjoy and find words of wisdom you can relate to!

    1. So glad you enjoyed! God is in us and with us!! We need only open our eyes, our minds to His presence in our lives. When we learn to adjust our vision, we see more clearly in the ways He is speaking to us and through us 🙂
