Happy 4 Year Anniversary!

On July 23, 2019, I gave birth to my blog Magnificent Meraki! Thanks to a co-worker and friend who believed in and encouraged me weeks beforehand, I’ve had 4 years of writing, reflecting, healing and understanding, in addition to sharing some of my photography.

Where did the time go, I think to myself.

There are moments when I catch myself thinking I need to be doing more, consistently blogging, having some sort of schedule, a theme throughout the weeks, a focus, just something more than I’ve got.

As I think about this some more, who is it I am comparing myself to? What is my purpose in having a blog? I needed to shift my focus back to God, giving Him all glory and praise. Without Him guiding my steps, I would not be the person I am today. He draws me near, so I too, may draw others near and hear stories about He works through us in everyday life experiences.

I am inspired by the creative talents and abilities so many of you have! So much to appreciate, the diversity and uniqueness in us all.

I am here to be me, my real and authentic self. Although I don’t share every intimate detail of my life, I share parts and pieces in hopes there will be those who are able to connect with everyday life experiences in different areas of my life.

Maybe just one thing I say will resonate with someone and help them to not feel so alone.

Maybe my story will bring messages of hope and encouragement.

Maybe someone will feel seen, heard, loved and appreciated.

Maybe someone will be inspired.

Maybe that someone is you, someone you know, someone you shared an important message with.

I appreciate all the beautiful and talented writers.

I appreciate you for the courage and vulnerability it takes to put yourself out there. You never know who or how many lives you will impact or change. Keep being your authentic self, for the world needs more of you, your gifts and your talents!!!

Hello and welcome, I am so glad we have crossed paths! It’s no accident you are here! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by, notice and read. As a wife, mother, grandmother, teacher (and so much more), I see the world through my lens. From the way I was raised, to every experience, moment, and circumstance in life, has shaped the way I think and see the world. For several years now, I have been walking more closely with God, getting to know Him, how He speaks to me and through me. He has given me the ability to write, a way to express how I am feeling and what I am going through. This has been a beautiful, crazy kind of journey where much healing is taking place. A time where I need to offer myself up some grace and appreciate the hard work, dedication, and commitment to creating a better version of myself. I am learning how to work through and release old trauma, healing, shedding old layers of myself, accepting and embracing my true and authentic self. Getting to know the new me has been quite foreign, especially when the old wants to cling to what is familiar, old habits and mindsets. Writing has been my saving grace (and photography is right up there too). An outlet, a way to release, a way to pause, reflect and see there is more than what my mind is leading me to believe. God’s word, His voice is there. When I keep Him first, above all things, I’ve realized things work out for my greater good, my higher purpose. I hope you enjoy and find words of wisdom you can relate to!
