What do you think of when you hear the word,
“CHANGE?”
Does something inside you start stirring?
Do you feel uncomfortable or irritable?
Anxious or fearful?
Change is a good thing; did you know that?
What?
Really?
How?
Change provides us with opportunities to get uncomfortable, push us outside of our comfort zone.
This discomfort is only temporary.
It may be stressful.
You may think you will never get through or overcome your greatest fears.
That is the limiting factor of fear, causing you to doubt rather than trust in God and His almighty power. Lean on Him. Put your faith and trust in Him. He will bring you to new heights once you learn to embrace your challenges, your fears, and face them head on.
For a moment, imagine yourself as a kite. You know there are certain elements that are needed in order to take flight, to soar, correct?
All components of the kite and other elements of nature need to work together to fly. Most importantly, resistance. Resistance is the key to change. Oncoming wind gusts provides the kite with opportunities to become airborne, thrusting in an upward and away motion.
Do you think the kite is fearful knowing it must push against a strong force in order to rise up and above its current circumstances?
Well, let me put it this way.
Have you ever longed to do something you’ve had a passion for in your life?
Are you working towards achieving those goals or or hesitant about pursuing?
In my experiences, the resistance, the fear of change, these things come from the enemy telling me why I am not good enough, reasons not to pursue, twist the truth and deceive to get me to step down and attempt to disable and discourage me from trying.
The stronger the resistance, the more I know I am headed down the right path. The path of love and righteousness, loving and serving the Lord in the best ways I know how to.
All the more reason to find the courage and the strength, embrace whatever difficult season or circumstance you are going through see the good in it, the lessons, teachings and wisdom.
The moment will come.
You will remember what the kite has taught you.
It is then you will find freedom.
Your faith in God has set you free.
You will soar among them in high places, giving all glory and praise to Him!!!
(The above picture was taken just a day ago on a family hike where we witness a father and his children working together to get their kite to take flight. He was making the most of his circumstances, utilizing the wind in his favor, becoming one with the wind rather than being angered by and opposed to it.)
