You Are So Generous

Today, something absolutely beautiful and unexpected happened! I received a gift, a gesture, such kindness from the heart. The gift so simple, yet showing such appreciation.

That was so kind, so generous of you! Thank you so much!

These were the words I had spoken to show my gratitude. To someone who probably doesn’t get much recognition, maybe not as much respect.

For the past few weeks, we have done special cooking projects in our preschool classroom, including gingerbread man cookies, pizza and firetrucks made using graham crackers, frosting and Oreo cookies. Each time we shared some goodies with staff. I know for certain they do appreciate us thinking about them.

Do you wonder what the unexpected gift was that I received? Something sweet, something salty, things that were a treat. Sun Chips and a Snickers bar. These gifts were brought to me with so much happiness, joy and pride. Knowing they were giving something in return, not only a purchased gift, but a smile, kind gesture, given with such gratitude.

Every time someone reaches out to me, every time I notice good deeds, I give thanks and glory to Him. Do I expect to receive when I give of myself to other people? I don’t. My hope is that other people will someday pay the kindness to someone, anyone, some time, some place, somewhere.

PAY IT FORWARD!

BE that person! BE the one that cares! BE the one that arrives, reaches out with the smallest acts of kindness.

Serve Him, by serving others. Reach out to others in need. Surprise them. Make their day, by giving them a gift, a token of God’s love. Show respect. Give a smile. Offer up a hug. Wish someone well…have a nice day. Listen to and be present, don’t look the other way.

You never know what any other soul has been through, is going through in this lifetime, in this world. Have patience with one another. Be gentle and be kind.

So many things that just seem like common sense. How is it that you treat other people? Do you reach out and support? Do you look the other way?

In the coming weeks, especially with the holidays, let us all think about some way we can reach out, support one another, whether that person, those people are family members and friends or simply strangers in your world.

Volunteer time
Make a donation
Write letters and notes for inspiration
Get involved with a charity
Buy or make a gift for someone and give just to give and brighten their day

See if your heart changes, bringing joy and gratitude.

See if your mindset has a new appreciation for people other than you once believed to be true.

God, He knows your heart and sees your every move.

God, He does reward!

Acknowledge Him and the gifts that have been given to you!

Hello and welcome, I am so glad we have crossed paths! It’s no accident you are here! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by, notice and read. As a wife, mother, grandmother, teacher (and so much more), I see the world through my lens. From the way I was raised, to every experience, moment, and circumstance in life, has shaped the way I think and see the world. For several years now, I have been walking more closely with God, getting to know Him, how He speaks to me and through me. He has given me the ability to write, a way to express how I am feeling and what I am going through. This has been a beautiful, crazy kind of journey where much healing is taking place. A time where I need to offer myself up some grace and appreciate the hard work, dedication, and commitment to creating a better version of myself. I am learning how to work through and release old trauma, healing, shedding old layers of myself, accepting and embracing my true and authentic self. Getting to know the new me has been quite foreign, especially when the old wants to cling to what is familiar, old habits and mindsets. Writing has been my saving grace (and photography is right up there too). An outlet, a way to release, a way to pause, reflect and see there is more than what my mind is leading me to believe. God’s word, His voice is there. When I keep Him first, above all things, I’ve realized things work out for my greater good, my higher purpose. I hope you enjoy and find words of wisdom you can relate to!
