This may not be my usual blog write up, be we haven’t exactly been in ordinary times. As a teacher, going distance learning, has changed my way of thinking, knowing I needed to think outside the box.
I am an advocate for my preschool students. They are a part of my “family” as I am a part of their family too. As any teacher knows, you think of your students night and day, on vacation and weekends too.
Ways to enhance and ways to support learning in a home environment. Never before have any of us been through this…we are learning as we go.
How can I best support learning and engage preschoolers too?
What is it, that sparks imagination?
What is it that captivates young minds?
A sense of humor? Being human? Being real? Having personal connections, knowing how my words and actions make someone feel.
Nothing can ever fully replace the presence of people in your life. Zoom and learning through technology, no longer do we seem very real.
For my students, where being with, working with and playing together is optimal for social skills and development. To have human touch and connection, unconditional love, hugs, being fully present and empathically listening.
I know my 3-4 year olds don’t understand why we can’t be together at school. Confusing times, especially those impacted with Autism, who do best with a consistent and structured environment.
The world my students live in, so familiar, yet foreign, something about their days not right. Thriving, growing, learning at home, yet a void remains in their hearts. The desire of wanting to go back school. Questioning mommies and daddies…When can I see my friends?
Never will anybody ever fully understand what a child and their family goes through at this time, especially children with special needs and military families. My heart goes out to each and every one, hoping no news is good news, when I’ve tried reaching out with little to no success. These are trying times, but that’s not a reason to let go and give up.
I am doing what I can…what I feel is in the best interest of my students and their families.
At this time, I am reaching out in an effort to help spread the word. Providing materials for my students, that I can use from home. When we return to the classroom, my students will be familiar with the puppets and backpack filled with supplies for calming down. This excites me, knowing the outreach and support needed for learning at home.
If you are able…
If you know someone who can…
Support our classroom…
No donation is ever too small in size.
If you can, God bless…
If you are not able…
That’s okay too!
Send good thoughts and wishes…
In hopes and light
Our projects will be funded
Much to our delight!
Sweet Dreams, my Donor’s Choose project. “Filled With Emotion” is a perfect name for you. So many emotions happening right now. You are filled with many familiar characters, like Paw Patrol and Frozen, materials you love (dinosaurs, blankets, books & more)…I hope this makes you proud. I am giving you up to God, letting Him take it from here. I will put the word out, in hopes others will too…either pass the message on to those who are interested, can and able to support.
Goodnight & God Bless!
