Lord, where do I start as it’s been so long since I’ve made quality time for you and myself? I know my body is changing, Heaven and Earth are shaking, waking me up inside. A part of me has fallen asleep. The changing of the seasons, shorter days, more darkness, less light and many cloudy days with limited blue skies and sunshine.
All things wear and tear on my body, mind and soul. Through and through, I do my best, remembering, reaching for you, yearning to hear your word. Your blessings fill me with such love, joy and peace. Let there be no mistake as you are the one for me! I keep my sights set on you.
Some days are much harder, more challenging than others. Out of alignment, my vision out of focus, seeing and hearing you takes more energy, more courage, more strength. Knowing you, believing and trusting in your ways most definitely helps me get through my days.
Lord, I take shelter in you. You provide me with comfort, a place to rest my weary head. I know I can lean on you at all times. You are my best friend, my encourager, my cheerleader, much more to be said!
My love for you is greater than one knows, even though I may not show it in big ways every day. I will not deny that sometimes doubt leaks in, depending on the situation, trials, storms, life-things that get put on my path, those things I need to confront face to face.
I know you have a purpose and a plan for my life. Trials and tribulations will be had. I am made for this. I know you are preparing me for the next chapter of my life. You are preparing me for an Eternal Life with you in Heaven. I’ve come to know you so much better in recent years, on a very personal and intimate level.
At each and every moment, every day here in my life, you are in me as I am in you. Your voice, I have come to know, is the one that fills my mind and soul, with peace, joy and love, many words, phrases, tunes and words from a song, many thoughts, moments of genius and inspiration!
Where do I go from here? I am a writer. I am your scribe. I want to do your will and be all that you created me to be. You’ve given me so many great ideas, including children’s stories, devotionals, messages of hope, words that will help others to heal.
Words uniting, bringing people together, building a community among us all. An outreach, important messages, letting other people know how much someone genuinely cares. Yes, I hear you, I want to know more.
Show me, show me where it is I need to go. Lead me, take my hand, help me to be brave and understand. Help me find the courage, my voice, your voice, the one that speaks most clearly, a gentle hearted, tender, loving soul.
You brought me to life for a purpose and a reason. I know you have great plans before me. Patience, I know for this is all in your timing and one day I will fully understand. Everything will click, make more sense, all the pieces will fit perfectly together. Until then, I will keep your peace, joy and love in my heart. The day will come when I can fulfill my promises to you. To be a faithful servant, to know and reject Satan, a.k.a. The Enemy, when he attacks.
Stay strong, I am told, for a shield of armor protects me. I have an army of one with me at all times. How grateful I am to have turned my life over to you! All glory and praise! Amen, I say.
Every day, a little better, a little stronger, loving you Lord, more and more. You are my Lord, my God, my Savior! The Holy Spirit and the Holy Trinity (the power of 3)! Three parts in one, overjoyed, overflowing with love, with you my life is complete!
My eyes, my body, my head needs time to rest. Sweet dreams as I lay down beside you. Stay near me, be with me, help me through the night. Moment by moment, day by day. I seek your approval. I seek your grace. Worthy, I am, for this I have come to know. We all have our moments, lessons in life. You are growing me, helping me to become more pleasing to your eyes, glorifying you in magnificent ways.
Lord, I rest now in you as I settle in for the night. With your blessings, awaken me to the dawn of a new day. Let the awakening bring forth a new set of eyes, a fresh start to a new day, helping me maximize my potential. Renew in me my heart and spirit, help me to be grateful always, see the many blessings you have provided me with. The health, safety and well-being of us all, sanctity.
