Hello and welcome, I am so glad we have crossed paths! It’s no accident you are here! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by, notice and read. As a wife, mother, grandmother, teacher (and so much more), I see the world through my lens. From the way I was raised, to every experience, moment, and circumstance in life, has shaped the way I think and see the world. For several years now, I have been walking more closely with God, getting to know Him, how He speaks to me and through me. He has given me the ability to write, a way to express how I am feeling and what I am going through. This has been a beautiful, crazy kind of journey where much healing is taking place. A time where I need to offer myself up some grace and appreciate the hard work, dedication, and commitment to creating a better version of myself. I am learning how to work through and release old trauma, healing, shedding old layers of myself, accepting and embracing my true and authentic self. Getting to know the new me has been quite foreign, especially when the old wants to cling to what is familiar, old habits and mindsets. Writing has been my saving grace (and photography is right up there too). An outlet, a way to release, a way to pause, reflect and see there is more than what my mind is leading me to believe. God’s word, His voice is there. When I keep Him first, above all things, I’ve realized things work out for my greater good, my higher purpose. I hope you enjoy and find words of wisdom you can relate to!

  1. As a teacher myself, I can certainly relate to this one. Since I’ve started, my number one goal is to make a difference in as many lives as possible. That should be every teacher’s top objective. Based on what you write here, I am sure you are making great impacts in the lives of the students you teach 🙂

    1. Working with children who have special needs has proven to be a challenge which I accepted nearly 14 years ago. Not knowing what I was getting myself into, or where it would lead, working with young children is what I wanted to do (with or without disabilities or delays).

This time of year is especially challenging, as I’m sure you know. With the return of F2F learning after a year of Zoom (and yes, we zoomed with preschool).

What I’ve learned is you never know what you are capable of achieving until you step out in faith and do what He has called upon you to do.

This week has been especially challenging, due to high behavioral needs of my students. Fortunately, God provided me with the wisdom, images and vision of what to do and made environmental changes accordingly so. I hope and pray this will make a positive impact! (We will find out next week 🙂

This morning I had a conversation with a couple of my coworkers. The conversation soon turned to matters on my heart, which ultimately led to a heartfelt and outpouring cry. I was reminded me of how human I am, that we as teachers, have been challenged this year in so many ways. My passion for teaching is what they saw pouring out, from my heart and soul, out through my eyes.

We can try to hold it all together, be strong for everyone else. Our body will let us know when everything has become too much, today was my day (and that’s okay).

I can move forward in faith and confidence knowing there are others who care about and respect what I do, respect and appreciate me for who I am. The burden is not mine alone to carry.

Today, I became vulnerable, and it was beautiful!

Just another day in the life of a teacher…real life, raw emotion, heart and soul.

      1. Yes, the life of a teacher! You have so many valuable gems in this comment…this time of year is a challenge in a normal year, nevermind one like this. I am still not live in the classroom yet with my students, but we are preparing to bring them back soon. I have still used this virtual time to create some positive bonds with students.

I am one that rarely releases my emotions, but when I display my vulnerability, God seems to act on my behalf almost immediately.

Thanks for this reminder that we teachers are never alone. We share a common bond, and we are making a difference, even if it often seems like we are not. Blessings to you 🙂

      2. There is a higher purpose in us crossing paths in the blogging world. No coincidences, no accident…purposeful intent. He has already shared pieces of that with connections we’ve made in both our personal and professional lives.

Keep giving Him all glory, thanks and praise for things big and small. He is guiding us to where we need to be.

        God bless you!
Keep changing lives for the better!
        You make a difference!
        You matter!

      3. That is so true. And the same is true for you. You matter, and make a difference too. You are obviously making yourself available to be used by God in that regard. I know you don’t do it to be blessed yourself, but you will be blessed as a result 🙂
